Neither Vukovar nor Ilok merits an overnight stay unless you have business in the area. Until recently there has been a dearth of acceptable accommodations in both cities, but that is changing. Both towns are now regular stops for Danube cruise ships, which drop their passengers at the dock in Vukovar to see the town’s monument to fallen soldiers. Hotels in both towns are trying hard to respond.
