Located in the old Banco d’España vault at the Hotel Horus, La Bóveda (which translates as The Vault) is a treasure. The chef adapts a number of classic Spanish dishes from different regions—bacalao al pil-pil with piquillo peppers from Basque country, for example, or suckling pig with crispy skin from Castilla—and gives them a modern twist. The wine list features the splendid reds from nearby Toro. Although it’s perhaps the dressiest restaurant in Zamora, La Bóveda offers exceptional value for the price.
