Belize City Sale Revisited
Remember that great American Airlines (tel. 800/433-7300; www.aa.com) sale to Belize from last fall? We certainly do. Not only did we score a round-trip ticket from New York for just $160 (including taxes!), we also learned to avoid direct contact with sad patchy beach dogs, no matter how sweet-faced and innocent they appear (hello ringworm city, population: us). This latest crop of Belize City sale fares isn't as spectacular as the previous bunch, but still far better than the norm.
- Boston to Belize City $479, incl. all taxes
- Chicago to Belize City $433, incl. all taxes
- Denver to Belize City $435, incl. all taxes
- Miami to Belize City $459, incl. all taxes
- New York to Belize City $384, incl. all taxes

8 Airline Regulations We Need Now
Remember back a few weeks? We asked if you felt the airlines should be re-regulated? Ring any bells? Though we received many a colorful (read: passionate, expletive filled) email from both corners of the ring, 52% of you said thanks but no thanks to regulation. We're guessing it's the prospect of higher fares that persuaded you, and not so much the passenger rights bit, correct? Because while most folks might be willing to suffer a little to save some coin (ahem, knees-to-face coach seating) that doesn't necessarily mean they're okay with being stuck on the runway for 6 hours, or shelling out cash for a hotel because a flight was canceled. Certainly, there's a lack of passenger protection that needs to be addressed by the government. Take a look at our Top 8 Airline Regulations We Need Now. Think we missed one? Feel free to tack on your own.
Travel Insurance: Buy it from the Airlines, Online Travel Agent, or Neither?
If you've bought airfares from an airline or online travel site, you've probably been offered the option of adding travel insurance to your purchase. The prices seem reasonable, often as little as $12 per flight. But exactly what are you covered for, and why is this insurance so much cheaper than buying a policy from a third-party travel insurance stalwart such as Access America or Travel Guard? Find out.
