Discounted Fares: Get 'Em While They Last!
Late one sleepy afternoon last week came a flood of amazing fares on American Airlines to practically every major destination in Europe. We're talking JFK to Barcelona for $260 round-trip, including taxes and everything. Why so amazing? Because someone somewhere along the line made a goof, and the fares were reported without fuel surcharges. Good news for travelers, and we're glad so many of our Facebook and Twitter friends, and newsletter subscribers were able to snag such jaw-droppingly cheap tickets. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to book in time. Here's a little something from our mailbag on the subject:
Q: Late last Tuesday evening, I opened an e-mail sent by you earlier that afternoon regarding an American Airlines sale to Europe. I was specifically interested in the JFK-Barcelona fare for $260. When I click on the vendor links provided in your fare details, the cheapest flight is more than double what you claim. Do seats really go that quickly?
A: Read on.
