In the narrow streets of the Bairro Alto, the Memorial Bar is well known to the city's lesbian community. Around 60% of its patrons are women -- the remainder are gay men. Twice a week (days vary), the joint features live entertainment -- including comedy, cross-dressing shticks, or live Portuguese musicians. A beer costs 2.50€ ($3.25). It's open Tuesday to Saturday 11pm to 4am and Sunday 4 to 8pm. (Dance music begins at midnight.)
