Frommer's Review
Its biggest fans call it "gourmet fast food." While gourmet it is not, this is a great place to eat without being rushed during a day of shopping on Oxford Street. Plus, it does what its nearby competitors don't do: It produces fresh, wholesome food at affordable prices. Everything is freshly cooked, so certain dishes may be variable, but we find ourselves returning in spite of a flaw here and there. Everything on the menu is fresh, often organic. The freshly made salads, chicken nuggets (made with succulent breast meat and doused in a creamy yogurt and garlic sauce), and hearty stews are good. Even the chili con carne is different. It's a bowl of spicy, tender minced beef with black kidney beans and is served with a fluffy organic brown rice speckled with pumpkin, sunflower, and sesame seeds, and accompanied by a tasty cabbage and beet root slaw. Your drink of choice might be a ginger and carrot juice. Save room for the chocolate brownie, just like mama used to make. The brownie is "zinged" up with orange zest and swaddled in sinful scoops of ice cream made from Jersey cream. Leon is also the best place in the area for breakfast -- try the organic porridge.
