Frommer's Review
Hot hoteliers Tim and Kit Kemp -- whose flair for interior design is legendary -- turned this former hospital into one of London's most charming boutique hotels in one of the West End's hippest shopping neighborhoods. Travel and Leisure called this hotel 1 of the 25 hottest places to stay in the world. It remains so. The hotel has a welcoming lobby outfitted with elaborate inlaid furniture and elegant draperies, plus a charming restaurant. Upstairs, accessible via a dramatic stone staircase, soundproof bedrooms are furnished in English style with Asian fabrics, many adorned with hand-embroidered designs. Each room has a clothier's mannequin, a female form draped in the fabric that decorates that particular room. Some guests prefer the attic rooms with their sloping ceilings and small arched windows.
