Frommer's Review
This elegant hotel in the heart of Mayfair is one of Europe's most prestigious. It is not the most glamorous, nor even the most fashionable in London, but it nonetheless coddles you in comfort and luxury, with a hospitality that's legendary. It has the atmosphere of an English country house -- a world of fresh flowers, crystal chandeliers, Wedgwood, and antiques. There is something of an aura of aristocratic decay at The Connaught, just as the country gentry like it. In 2008, the hotel inaugurated an ambitious expansion to include an additional 30 rooms, plus a pool and spa. Rooms range from medium to large and are filled with antiques, chintz, and tasteful details such as gilt-trimmed white paneling. Sumptuous beds, marble fireplaces, ornate plasterwork, and oak paneling add to the stately allure of the rooms.
Facilities:
2 restaurants; 2 bars; health club; spa services arranged in advance; courtesy car; business services; room service; babysitting; laundry service; same-day dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; rooms for those w/limited mobility

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
