Knightsbridge Hotel Review
A berth on a quiet, traffic-free, tree-lined street sets the Knightsbridge apart from its more prosaic neighbors: Repeat visitors have succumbed to the charms of a small, comfortable hotel in this high-rent district. Built in the early 1800s as a private town house, the Knightsbridge has been updated with such luxe touches as granite-and-oak bathrooms, an honor bar, and Frette linens. Most bedrooms are spacious and furnished with traditional English fabrics. The best rooms are nos. 311 and 312 at the rear, each with a pitched ceiling and a small sitting area. The hotel is fabulously located, sandwiched between fashionable Beauchamp Place and Harrods, with many of the city's top museums close at hand. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
