Frommer's Review
This cutting-edge hotel is where South Beach (Miami, that is) meets New York's East Village. A hotel as modern as tomorrow has been fashioned out of the former home of the BBC administration center. In spite of its off-center Shepherd's Bush location, it attracts cool guests, especially media mavens and touring musicians. The latter can be seen rocking all night long in the chic K Lounge and recovering the next day with an Asian head massage in the spa. Swanky suites and elegant bedrooms in an avant-garde neutral style await this cosmopolitan crowd of guests. Room decor uses soft taupes, creams, and browns with stainless steel and sandblasted glass. Creative modern dishes are served at the stylish Kanteen (which is anything but) with its luxurious leather seating and rich blues and reds. Everything from Philippe Starck designs to state-of-the-art plumbing is found in this bastion of chic. The young, good-looking staff scurries around catering to your needs (at least some of your needs).
