This Victorian pub, with its early-1900s decorations and 150-year-old mirrors, has been compared to Manet's painting A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (on display at the Courtauld Gallery). You can order premade sandwiches, and on Saturday, homemade fish and chips are served. Wash down your meal with Ind Coope's fine ales or the house's special beer, Burton's, a brew made of spring water from the Midlands town of Burton-on-Trent.
