Between Fuengirola and Marbella, .8km (1/2 mile) from the beach, this charming place was originally an old staging post for travelers en route to Gibraltar. In the 1970s it was converted into an inn. The architecture is typically Andalusian, with a stucco-and-wood facade under a terra-cotta roof. A garden and patio surround the building. The interior has retained some of its historical aura with colorful tiles plus decorative wooden wall panels and beams. The midsize rooms are comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated, often with Moorish details.
