Beaches
Ogunquit's main beach is more than 3 miles long, and its width varies with the tides. The beach is livelier at the south end near the town itself; it's more remote and unpopulated heading north, where there are dunes and, beyond them, clusters of summer homes. The most popular access point is the foot of Beach Street, which runs into Ogunquit Village. This beach ends at a sandy spit, where the Ogunquit River flows into the sea; here you'll find a handful of informal restaurants. It's also the most crowded part of the beach. Less congested options are Footbridge Beach (turn on Ocean Ave. off Rte. 1 north of the village center) and Moody Beach (turn on Eldridge Ave. in Wells). Restrooms and changing rooms are maintained at all three beaches.
The cost of parking at the beach in Ogunquit varies quite a bit: It costs $12 per day at Obeds; $15 per day at North Beach, Footbridge Beach, and the Lower Lot; $4 per hour at Main Beach; and $3 per hour at Perkins Cove. (Private lots a few blocks from Perkins Cove charge a flat $7-$8 per day.)
