Frommer's Review
This bright newcomer near to the water is giving serious competition to the best boutique hotels of the Basse-Ville. (The first customers arrived in mid-spring 2005.) The preexisting 18th-century structure was hollowed out to make a total of 40 suites, the smallest of which is 37 sq. m (398 sq. ft.). They all have well-equipped kitchenettes with microwave ovens and range tops; some have dishwashers as well. Four to six people can be accommodated in each unit, making this an excellent choice for families as well as long-stay businesspeople. From May through October the hotel operates at near total capacity, so book early. A fitness center and roof garden are planned for 2009. Le 48, a restaurant under separate management with an entrance from the lobby, provides room service and a snack-y menu of tapas, burgers, wraps, and such. Pets are allowed as long as they're not left alone in the room, and the hotel has a free walking service.
