Frommer's Review
Originally designed as a private villa late in the 19th century, this small and elegant government-rated four-star hotel enjoys a superbly convenient location directly astride the most visible square in St-Tropez, the place des Lices. Much expanded and altered since its original construction, it exudes an air of whitewashed elegance that's hard to find in St-Tropez. Attesting to its charm is the in-house bar that serves only champagne, and an 18th-century fountain that was found on-site. La Maison Blanche is in close proximity to the Port of St-Tropez, and is a 3-minute walk from the sea and beach. As such, very few of its clients feel compelled to rent a car. The rooms are comfortable and stylish, but contain very few mainstream amenities. In light of the resources of St-Tropez that lie in virtually every direction, no one seems to mind. Each of the tiled bathrooms comes with tub or shower.
