Ca'n Bermell ReviewIn a lovely old 1600s building, this restaurant lies in the Barrio del Carmen, Valencia's oldest district. In such a beautiful tavern setting, Emilio Bermell has built up a reputation as one of the best chefs in the city. Each day he personally goes to the sprawling marketplace to select only the best local ingredients, which he fashions into carefully crafted and good-tasting dishes, such as honeycombs stuffed with foie gras. Dig into his first tempting specialty, a superb mushroom salad made with fresh fruit from the region. For a main course, we suggest cod, which is stuffed with onions and served with a tangy green-pepper sauce. Duck breast served with a Rioja wine sauce is immensely appealing as well.
