This local favorite is filled with character and tradition. On the main square, at the bottom of the hill that rises to the basilica, this hotel was built in the 17th century as a postal station. With a terrace and small garden, the Poste et Lion d'Or is a first-class lodging with surprisingly reasonable rates. The functional guest rooms are conservatively outfitted in some cases in a vaguely Louis XVI style. Other than L'Espérance, it's the finest address in town.
