Visitor Information --  The Supetar tourist information center is at Porat 1 (www.supetar.hr; tel. 021/630-551) and the Bol tourist office is at Porat Bolskih Pomoraca bb (www.bol.hr; tel. 021/635-638).

Getting There -- In the summer, a dozen Jadrolinija car ferries make the daily hr.-long journey from Split to Supetar on Brač’s northern shore; a once-daily high-speed catamaran runs to Bol on the southern shore. Car ferries from Makarska connect to Sumartin on Brač’s eastern shore. Taxi-boats run across the narrow sea channel between Bol on Brač and Jelsa on Hvar.

Getting Around -- Buses run from Supetar to Bol six times a day and to several other towns and villages on Brač three times a day, although having to make connections can limit mobility. The best way to explore more than one town per visit is to rent a car or a motor scooter and explore the island independently. If you plan to stay in one place on Brač you can manage everything on foot, although you might consider hiring a bicycle in Bol to get back and forth from Zlatni Rat beach.
