The River Suir babbles along in front of this modern hotel in Clonmel, overlooked by a distant mountain range. Bedrooms are properly spacious, with large, comfortable beds and modern (if rather uninspiring) decor. Some even have their own hot tubs. The hotel has a small spa with a swimming pool, though you’ll need to book ahead for treatments. If you want slightly more space, they also have 10 well-equipped apartments on the grounds; these can be rented on a self-catering basis. The only real downside to this place is that it’s a popular venue for weddings, reunions, and parties, especially in summer.
