Getting There

Irish Rail runs several trains a day into Clonmel from Limerick and Waterford. It serves Clonmel Station, Thomas Street, Clonmel, Tipperary (www.irishrail.ie; 052/612-1982). The station is a 10-minute walk from the town center.

There are more buses than trains to Clonmel, and Bus Éireann operates daily bus service to Limerick, Wexford, and Rosslare, into Clonmel Train Station, Thomas Street, Clonmel (www.buseireann.ie; 052/612-1982).

If you're driving from Dublin and points north, take the N7 or N76; if you're coming from the west, take the N24.

Visitor Information

The Clonmel Tourist Office at 6 Sarsfield St., Clonmel (052/612-2960) is open year-round Monday to Friday 9:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 4:30pm. The small Cashel Tourist Office at the Heritage Centre, Main Street, Cashel (062/61333) is open 9:30am to 5:30pm daily from March to October and Monday to Friday from November to February. A seasonal office at Castle Street, Cahir (052/714-1453) is open summer only (usually Apr–Oct) Monday to Saturday from 9:30am to 6pm.
