Erling Jensen

Chef Erling Jensen made a name for himself at the popular La Tourelle a decade ago before venturing out on his own at this eponymous restaurant located in a converted home just off Poplar Avenue at I-240. Understated elegance and contemporary art set the tone for Jensen’s innovative cuisine. The Danish-born chef changes his menu daily, but often offers items like a Maine lobster pancake with wild mushrooms and scallions and roasted sweetbreads with braised Belgian endive. A diverse entree assortment makes decisions difficult. Options might range from seared ahi tuna with ratatouille and truffled basil coulis, to more than a dozen meat and game dishes, including lamb, bison (the burger is a standout), beef, and veal. Sorbets and soufflés anchor a constantly updated dessert menu. Staff is well trained to provide exemplary service.
