Itta Bena

One of the things you’ll notice upon walking into this oasis over Beale Street is that you didn’t notice it from Beale Street at all. This soundproof, upscale lounge—blue-tinted windows, rustic yet elegant décor—perches quietly atop B.B. King's Blues Club with an almost unmarked entrance. Climb the iron staircase on the backside of the building and open the backdoor to a world of high-class bayou vibes. Dip into Southern delicacies like fried green tomatoes, the best she-crab soup in town (laced with all the cream and sherry), and follow that up with flawlessly executed dishes like Atlantic Salmon with butter-caper cream sauce and Cajun Abita Shrimp. Wash it down with an ice-cold martini and you’ll be perfectly fueled to dip downstairs and cut a rug to some blues.
