13th Street Winery
For the past 2 decades, Toronto restaurants that know good local wine have been pouring 13th Street. The boutique winery produces excellent delicate reds (Pinot and Gamay noirs), as well as top bubbly, and commendable Chardonnays. No visit is complete without a meander through the sculpture garden followed by a pit stop at the farmhouse, which houses a petite bakery; in July the cherry tarts—made with fresh, local fruit—are simply divine. For a truly Canadian snack, try the butter tarts: pure perfection.
