Gran Hotel La Perla

This dowager lives up to its reputation as Pamplona’s grand hotel. It’s said that this is where Hemingway installed his wife, while he went elsewhere to frolic with his mistresses. You can visit the room dedicated to him, on request. More recent visitors include Woody Allen, Charlie Sheen, and David Hasselhoff. Built in 1881, its classical facade wears its years with dignity. Renovations have freshened everything without making radical changes in the low-key modern furnishings. The right address to be in the thick of things, it sits proudly on the main square and some rooms overlook Calle Estafeta, where the bulls run in the frenzied encierro of San Fermín. A new, Michelin-starred restaurant, the Zurita Barra y Mantel, was added in late 2024.
