Lying 5km (3 miles) east of Pula, in the village of Šišan, this restaurant is well worth the drive or taxi ride. Owner-chef Dušan Černjul is known throughout Croatia for his innovative Mediterranean cuisine, prepared from fresh local ingredients, with an emphasis on seafood. The menu changes frequently, but might include shrimp risotto with champagne and peaches, or sea bream on a bed of spinach and pine nuts. In summer, guests dine on the poolside terrace, while in winter the rustic-chic dining room, complete with an open fireplace, comes into use. The restaurant is part of a stylish 13-room boutique hotel. Reservations are recommended.
