Song of the Sea
The sister property to Sanibel Inn and Sunset Beach Inn, Song of the Sea sounds like an old Disney movie. While it may not have the bells and whistles of the latest and greatest, it's a serene Gulf-front Sanibel classic that receives a slew of repeat guests. With just 30 newly renovated rooms (beachy-themed, as you might guess), it tends to be pretty quiet here, unless there happens to be the odd family with kids. I don't recommend this hotel for travelers with children because it is one of those peaceful places where noise is often frowned upon by solace-seeking older guests. Song of the Sea's two-story building is reminiscent of an old-school Florida condo. An outdoor heated pool is command central for R&R. Other perks include a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival and free use of beach chairs, umbrellas, and bikes. While continental breakfast on the patio is also thrown in, there is no restaurant here. There are demi-kitchens in the rooms and communal gas grills outside for those who feel like cooking.
