Old Florida charm is alive and well at this rustic inn that dates back to the early '60s. With just five attached bungalows, all with whitewashed wicker and rattan furniture and large, updated bathrooms, Tarpon Tale is a place to go for peace and quiet. New owners Joe and Dawn Ramsey are exceptionally friendly and accessible at all times. Each room comes with the free use of two adult bikes to explore the island's excellent trails. Rooms also have private patios overlooking lush (read: buggy) gardens. While there is no pool here, there is a communal Jacuzzi in the garden for those who like that sort of thing. Travelers also get chairs and umbrellas to use on the Gulf beach, which is just 150 yards away.
