'Tween Waters Inn Island Resort

What used to be a circa-1931 collection of charming fishing cottages is today one of Captiva's most popular stays. The location is great, right across from the Gulf, with a variety of accommodations, a heated Olympic-sized pool, a children's pool, and hot tubs. Yes, plural. For that Old Florida feel, there are 19 cottages with one to three bedrooms and views of the Gulf, the Bay, or the courtyard. Bayside pool suites include kitchens and enclosed balconies, while studios with water views feature all-new décor (rich woods and sand tones), partial kitchens, and enhanced bathrooms. The old-school standard hotel rooms offer views of the Gulf, Bay, or pool. There's a spa, fitness center, and tennis center. For golf fanatics, a new 18-hole championship course at the nearby Beachview Golf Club is now open to guests—just ask the staff to arrange a tee time. Couples like the resort for the beautiful, romantic sunsets, while families with kids appreciate the beach and the pool. Sometimes the twain at the 'Tween clash, so romance seekers should be aware of the family-friendly aspect of the place. Nightly entertainment at the Crow's Nest is a fun way to end the day. Kudos goes out to the staff, which is exceptionally accommodating and friendly.
