Restaurants in Shelburne
Lovers of British-style beers will appreciate the Hell Bay Brewing Co. (tel. 902/356-3556) at 38 Legion St. in a red building next to the water in nearby Liverpool. Their English Ale is a mild, thirst-quenching tribute to the classics.
In Shelburne itself, Boxing Rock Brewing (218 Water St.) is a fun place to go. An ale-obsessed, married pair of engineers are the owners here, and with their technical knowhow they’re brewing some of the best handcrafted beers in Canada. A favorite is Temptation Red, a hoppy, richly malted, satisfying ale. In addition to tastings, visitors can take a tour and learn more about brewing.
There's a light food menu at both breweries.
