The Izán is housed in a former 17th-century monastery, complete with atmospheric cloisters. In the central courtyard is a swimming pool—a wonderful perk in a town that can get mighty hot. Guest rooms are quite stylish, ranging from small to quite roomy, all with handsome, aqua or terra cotta colored couches and wall treatments, and cherry wood furnishings. The on-site restaurant is good and offers room service.
