Arte Zoco

This is the largest association of craftspeople in Córdoba. Established in the Jewish Quarter in the mid-1980s, it assembles on one site the creative output of about a dozen artisans whose mediums include leather, wood, silver, crystal, terra cotta, and iron. About a half-dozen of the artisans maintain their studios on the premises, so you can visit and check out the techniques and tools they use to pursue their crafts. You'll find everything from new, iconoclastic, and avant-garde designs to pieces that honor centuries-old traditions. Of special interest is the revival of the Califar pottery first introduced to Córdoba during the regimes of the Muslim caliphs. The shop is open in winter Monday to Friday 9:30am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:30am to 2pm, and in summer daily 10am to 8pm. The workshops and studios of the various artisans open and close according to the whims of their occupants but are usually maintained Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm and 5:30 to 8pm.
