Mirador de Morayma

Don't expect subtlety or big-city sophistication here -- what you'll get are generous portions of good cooking and a deep pride in the region's rural traditions. Facing the Alhambra in an antique Renaissance-era house in the Albaicín, this is a large, rambling restaurant with a half-dozen dining rooms and three outdoor terraces. According to tradition, Morayma, the wife of Boabdil, last of the Muslim kings, was born here. The hardworking staff prepares dishes like gazpacho, roasted goat in wine sauce, slabs of beefsteak with a sauce of aromatic herbs, grilled Spanish sausages, and roasted lamb.
