In front of the Botanical Gardens of the University of Granada, this minimalist restaurant is known for vegetarian dishes influenced by the cooking of Asia and North Africa. It's especially popular with university students. The ingredients that go into the dishes are extremely fresh, and the staff works hard to please. We opted for a quichelike "cheesecake" as a savory appetizer. The chefs are known for their creative salads that feature many different flavors and combinations, including mushrooms, sweet red peppers, and dozens of other ingredients; and every day there are about three vegetarian casserole offerings, such as meatless lasagna. Among the more challenging selections is a Moorish-inspired cakelike dish filled with chicken, meat, and cinnamon. A typical Mediterranean salad is served with feta cheese, black olives, roast chicken, and fresh vegetables. The signature dish here is oven-baked duck with couscous. There is a limited but good selection of homemade desserts as well.
