Room Mate Migueletes Hotel ReviewThis is the best-accessorized and plushest of the crop of boutique hotels that have sprung up in medieval houses in the Albaicín. The structure was built in 1642 and used by the local police force (then known as Los Migueletes for the weapons they carried) throughout most of the 1800s. Although it carries a three-star government rating, the hotel has many extras associated with four-star lodgings. Some of the rooms, especially the spectacular suite, feel baronial, thanks to high ceilings, majestic proportions, superior mattresses, and flagstone- or tile-covered floors. All bedrooms are different in size and layout, some opening onto the interior courtyard, others with a view of the Alhambra -- which is especially dramatic when the fortress is floodlit at night. Public areas are graceful and museum-like: A fountain splashes in the courtyard, wraparound verandas above the stone-floored patio are supported by delicate granite columns, and breakfast is served in a vaulted white-brick cellar with sophisticated Scandinavian touches. Note: The elevator grants access to only about 80% of the rooms. Facilities: Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
