Frommer's Review
Graciously restored, Carmen de Santa Inés will house you stylishly, comfortably, and affordably. Lying in the historical Albaicín section, this was an old Moorish house on a quiet street. Much of yesteryear has been retained, including original wooden beams, a private patio, Arab fountains, and a marble staircase and columns -- all very romantic. Bedrooms are small but filled with comfort and character. If you've got some money to spare, rent "El Mirador," whose balcony terrace opens onto panoramic views of the Alhambra and the cityscape. There is no elevator, and only breakfast is served.
You could also stay at the parent hotel, the first-class Hotel Carmen, Acera del Darro 62 (tel. 95-825-83-00). Because it's more tranquil, this inn has a slight edge on its sibling, Hotel Palacio de Santa Inés , which is only 2 blocks away.
