This is one of at least four boutique hotels that opened during the early millennium in the cramped but evocative medieval neighborhood known as the Albaicín, a few steps uphill from the Plaza Nueva. In a private, patio-centered home built at least 400 years ago, and the beneficiary of a river of funds spent on renovations and modern comforts like plumbing, it's a cozy, appealing mixture of antique and modern. The well-furnished and rather small bedrooms are accented with hand-hewn antique features, including old Spanish-style wooden beams. Accommodations are spread over three floors, and from the main courtyard you can access all of the units.
