Frommer's Review
Set immediately adjacent to the early medieval stone archway known as the Puerto de Elvira, in the 19th-century commercial core of Granada, this is a relatively staid, comfortably upscale, and much-modernized hotel. Its facade is about a century old. The interior is much more modern than the exterior implies, thanks to a 1989 renovation that left most of the public and private surfaces shimmering with thousands of slabs of glossy marble and stone. The staff at this small-scale hotel is uniformed, efficient, and very polite. Bedrooms are conservatively furnished in a contemporary style. Mostly midsize, they are comfortable, with occasional touches of luxury; each comes with a medium-size bathroom in beige marble equipped with tub and shower. The clientele? A Spanish hotel critic recently referred to them as "business drones" -- a bit harsh, perhaps, although the Triunfo does attract a huge percentage of clients in Granada for commercial interest.
