Getting There

Oviedo doesn't have an airport. The nearest one is at Santiago del Monte, Ranón, 52km (32 miles) away, which it shares with Gijón-bound passengers. Call tel. 98-512-75-00 for information.

RENFE (tel. 90-224-02-02; www.renfe.es) offers three trains per day from Madrid; the one-way trip takes 9 hours and costs 47.50€. FEVE (tel. 91-453-38-00; www.feve.es) runs trains from Bilbao; the one-way trip takes 7 hours and costs 22€. ALSA (tel. 90-242-22-42; www.alsa.es) operates buses from Madrid; the trip one-way takes 5 hours and costs 30€.

Driving from the east or west, take N-634 across the coast of northern Spain. From the south, take N-630 or A-66 from León.

Visitor Information

The tourist information office is at Cimadevilla 4 (tel. 90-230-02-02). Hours are daily from 10:30am to 2pm and 4:30 to 7:30pm.
