Frommer's Review
Nearly a kilometer (1/2 mile) south of the cathedral, behind one of the most beautiful Hispano-Art Deco facades in town, this hotel is the most historic and charming in Zaragoza and a good value. Established by King Alfonso XIII in 1929, the Gran has an array of public areas and conference facilities. Guest rooms have been restored into a neutral, standard international style. All contain neatly kept bathrooms with tub/shower combos. A favorite of the business community, the hotel offers excellent service. Hemingway and one of his biographers, A. E. Hotchner, stayed at the Gran when they were in Zaragoza.
