Getting There -- From Sydney, take the M4 Motorway traveling west through the Blue Mountains, Katoomba, and Mt. Victoria. Find the Jenolan Caves turnoff just past the village of Hartley. There is no fuel available at Jenolan. When traveling from Sydney the last service station is at Mount Victoria or Lithgow. It's a 1 1/2-hour drive from Katoomba to the caves. Trolley Tours (tel. 1800/801 577 in Australia; www.trolleytours.com.au) runs midweek 2-day tours to Jenolan Caves, with cave tours and meals provided for A$299. The company also offers transfers from Katoomba and back for $56 for adults and A$36 for kids, and an Ultimate 2-Day Package combining an all-day Trolley Tour around Katoomba and Leura, a Scenic Railway and Scenic Cableway ride at Scenic World, and a trip the next day to Jenolan Caves, including entry to Lucas Cave. This costs A$117 for adults and A$79 for kids.
