Planning a trip to Trujillo, Spain

There are around eight buses a day from Madrid’s Estación Sur to Trujillo, taking 3.5–4 hours, costing 30€–35€ one-way. They are operated by Avanza (tel. 92-732-12-02).

There are about nine buses a day from Cáceres (45 min.; 5€–9€), operated by Avanza and Alsa (tel. 90-242-22-42). Trujillo’s striking modern bus station is on Avenida Extremadura on the south side of town.

By car, Trujillo is on the network of roads connecting Madrid and Lisbon via the A-5. Driving time from Madrid is around 3 hours, from Caceres around 40 minutes. From Mérida, it takes about an hour on the A-66.

The tourist office on Plaza Mayor (tel. 92-732-26-77), is open daily 10am‒1:30pm and 4‒7pm (5–8pm in summer).
