Bar del Pi

One of the most famous bars in the Barri Gòtic, this tiny establishment is midway between two medieval squares opening onto a Gothic church. Typical tapas, canapés, and rolls are available. Most visitors come to drink coffee, beer, or local wines, sangrias, or cavas. In summer refresh yourself with a horchata milk shake flavored with almonds or sesame, or a slushy ice drink. Sit inside at one of the cramped bentwood tables, or stand at the crowded bar. In warm weather, take a table beneath the single plane tree on the landmark square. The plaza draws an interesting group of young bohemian sorts, travelers, and musicians.
