One of the most famous bars in the Barri Gòtic, this establishment is midway between two medieval squares opening onto a Gothic church. Typical tapas, canapés, and rolls are available. Most visitors come to drink coffee, beer, or local wines, house-sangrias, and cavas. In summer you can refresh yourself with a tigernut milkshake (called an horchata) or a slushy ice drink. Sit inside at one of the cramped bentwood tables, or stand at the crowded bar. In warm weather, take a table beneath the single plane tree on the landmark square. The plaza usually draws an interesting group of young bohemian sorts, travelers, and musicians.
