Anima ReviewLocated near the MACBA, Anima is of the new breed of Raval eateries. Inside it's all bright colors and minimalism, and a glance at the menu would lead you to think that the cuisine also skimps on the trimmings. But the food here is highly satisfying, especially when you eat it on their outdoor terrace in the summer. Under the plane trees, you can dine on rape con ajillo de pistachio y granizado de algas (monkfish in pistachio garlic and iced liquidized seaweed), mozzarella balls swimming in gazpacho, ostrich steak with caramelized cranberries, and crystalized chocolate truffles for dessert. If all this sounds a bit too heavy, take a gamble with the great-value set-lunch menu instead. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
