Frommer's Review
Don't come here for a quiet evening. Mesón David is an absolute riot: Waiters scream at each other, tips are acknowledged by the ringing of a cowbell, crowds of diners sing and somehow you have to make yourself heard. But the effort is worth it. The food is fast, furious, and excellent, and the regional specialties range from Navarran trout stuffed with serrano ham and Galician-style broiled octopus to traditional Castilian roast suckling pork. Obviously, it isn't the place for a light meal. But it is an enormous amount of fun for a price that's unbelievably low for central Barcelona. On busy nights you may have to wait for a table at the bar -- and be shown the door on your last gulp of coffee.
