Located on the main drag of El Born, Sandwich & Friends stands out from its fast-food rivals thanks to its huge wall mural by the famous illustrator Jordi Labanda. His portrayal of a social gathering of bright young things echoes the clientele itself, who come to enjoy the cafe's awesome selection of over 50 sandwiches, all named after "friends": Marta is a pork filet, tomato, and olive oil sandwich; Daniel is filled with frankfurter, bacon, and mustard. There is a selection of salads if you are calorie counting, which, going by the size of the staff, is the norm here. There are four other branches scattered throughout the city, one in Raval and three in L'Eixample, but this is the coolest.
