This stately six-story stone building stands directly behind the pricier Hotel Colón and in the shadow of the cathedral. The Regencia Colón attracts tour groups because it's a good value for Barcelona. The formal lobby seems a bit dour, but the well-maintained rooms are comfortable and often roomy, albeit worn at the edges. Rooms are insulated against sound, and 40 have full bathrooms with tubs (the remainder have showers only). All have comfortable beds and piped-in music. The hotel's main draw is its location.
