Frommer's Review
Just around the corner from Plaça Catalunya, the Jazz is located in an enclave of designer hotels. Quite low-key in spite of its name, it stands out as a modestly attractive, tempting alternative to those officially higher-rated competitors. The decor of bleached wood floors and oatmeal paintwork may be a little generic, but there's nothing offensive about it and the rooms are spacious enough, all en suite and all soundproof -- a definite bonus on this busy stretch. The big plus comes on the roof, where you'll find a swimming pool and a wood-deck terrace, which is more than those pricier neighbors can boast.
Facilities:
Cafeteria; lounge; outdoor pool; solarium; business center; room service; babysitting service; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
