Its wall hangings, rugs, gilded picture frames, and teardrop chandeliers offset the period decor to perfection, creating a nostalgia-invoking ambience that's transformed it into a highly sought-after city-center retreat. It offers a variety of bedrooms, from singles without bathrooms to more plush doubles with en-suite bathrooms. Some have balconies overlooking the street or a quiet rear patio. All are comfortable and freshly painted, with plain white linen bedspreads. It's an individual gem and a bargain at that.
