Frommer's Review
As hostal accommodations go, this is one of the best deals in the city: a smart, friendly place that's a cut above the others in terms of decor, cleanliness, and service (the newly renovated Principal wing is the quietest and has fresh, sleekly decorated rooms). Do remember, however, that it is a hostal, not a hotel, and therefore the clientele tend to be younger and sometimes noisy when coming in late at night. For most, this is no problem and the place itself is good enough to more than compensate for a fun-loving crowd. It offers a variety of different rooms. The best are doubles with large, sunny balconies; the worst are small, dark interior rooms (meaning no natural light) for single travelers, and some accommodations come without private bathrooms. Bonuses include a Scandinavian-look comfortable sitting room where free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are available throughout the day. Given its central location and good-value prices, it's unsurprising that it gets booked up quickly, so make your reservations well in advance.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
