Still one of the most popular gay discos in Barcelona, Metro attracts a diverse crowd -- from young fashion victims to more rough-and-ready macho types. One dance floor plays contemporary house and dance music, and the other traditional Spanish music mixed with Spanish pop. This is a good opportunity to watch men of all ages dance the sevillanas together with a surprising degree of grace. The gay press in Barcelona accurately dubs the backroom here as a "notorious, lascivious labyrinth of lust." One interesting feature appears in the bathrooms, where videos have been installed in quite unexpected places.
